After the Virginia Tech shooting,

one of the first responders was in an area where a lot of bodies had been. There were all types of items strewn over the floor from books to backpacks. She said the only sound you could hear was the ringing of the cell phones that were left behind. People were looking for their loved ones.

That has to be one of the most heartbreaking sounds ever heard.
