Anti-deficit nonsense in Washington: why can't it be counteracted ?

I'm not an economist, but if we accept the premise that GGM is correct, WHY can't we make progress, perhaps in 2013, on a stimulus ?

If we assume her to be correct, there is no rational reason to withhold a large stimulus for our economy. We all know that we (Dems) are being blocked by the other party but they keep chanting the mantra of evil deficits.
