I think Roy knew he'd lose all weekend.

That's the only thing that explains the guy disappearing for two days, then turning up Tuesday morning looking like a ranch hand who'd been fired for letting the cattle get loose 'cause he'd been drinkin' since sundown.

I assumed he thought there is no way he would lose to a democrat in Alabama.

Plus, I heard he had a prior commitment to go to the Army/Navy game on Sunday in Philadelphia. I wonder if anyone saw him there and can confirm it.

...the wild card was a large number of Black voters --especially Black women-- that turned out to defeat Moore. Before the election, Black voter turnout was estimated to be around 22 to 25%. Actual Black voter turnout was just over 40%. Moore's appearances in the last days, were few and far between because he did not want to have to answer questions about his previous conduct and relationships.

...for they have WILLINGLY climbed into bed with the proverbial devil just for a shot at power. They have allowed themselves to be conned, hoodwinked and used by one of the most UN-CHRISTIAN public figures possible. Oh yes, and then there's the support for Roy Moore... a man who used and abused his political power to sexually abuse children.

I was born in, raised in and escaped from the Mormon church. Politics and religion are somewhat hobbies of mine. How can republican Christian men and women even look at themselves in the mirror? THEY ALL need to spend 40 days and 40 nights wandering in the desert to atone for their tRumpian* sins.

Evangelicals sold their souls long ago --starting with St. Ronnie the Raygun-- now their unholy chickens are coming home to roost. They have no room to judge.

And now those who have any common sense at all realize just how far they have fallen.

I just spent 4 years in a Southern Baptist Church becoming angrier each week. So many friends begging me to stay, the bigoted old Pastor would soon be gone. It is hard to leave so many friends, but I finally could not stand one more day.

It is hard as you get older, but something led me back to a Church I once attended, but seldom visited.

They built a new Church across from the old one, hired 2 young Pastors that changed the whole concept. Became a Church Of Love and inclusion. They are an oasis in this chaos we are now living in.

And,the Church is almost across the street from me.

If was kept under wraps with his mouth sewn shut, there was no possibility of him saying any more stupid things or waving a pistol around where he could be filmed doing it.

In the end, it didn't save him, but Jones only won in a landslide by Alabama Democratic standards (i.e. ANY win in a statewide election is a landslide for a Democrat, considering the demographic and administrative obstacles).

1.5 percent isn't such a wide margin. Besides, no one could have predicted it. We were all hanging with bated breathe.

The more jokes that got cracked, the lower Republican enthusiasm. He was trying to hold onto whatever lead he might have had.
