There is something in Alabama election law that you can't ask for a recount of a federal level election, which the Senate race is, if the percentage that you lost by is over a certain percentage. And this election was over that percentage set by law. Not that laws seem to matter much to old Roy

I'm not a lawyer -- but I think the law says he gets an automatic free recount if margins do not exceed 0.5% and can otherwise request a recount, provided he pays for it

But there is another part of the law that has to do with federal level elections, which the Senate race is, and there is no way for him to get a recount
