There is a world of conservative lawyers and state judges that could answer the kind of first year law school questions the guy couldn't answer today. It is incomprehensible that a lawyer with no - zero - nil - trial experience could be a federal district court judge.

My only theory is that Trump wants incompetent judges on the federal bench to destroy public confidence in the federal courts.
