AFAIK, with enough treatment it can be held in check if the patient is willing. Note the word "willing". Many of them only come to treatment by being court-ordered after being arrested.

The DSM-5 diagnosis may not be a crime but the acting out of it is. This is just splitting hairs. OT but there is an entire community of sex offenders down near Pahokee, FL who are self-sustaining. No kids, no teens, only adults who know what's up and the pedophiles/sex offenders themselves. Short of them staying in prison forever, this is the best possible solution as long as they stay in that community.
