During closing arguments Thursday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Rizwan Qureshi offered no evidence that the six committed acts of violence or vandalism, or attended planning meetings for an anti-capitalism march that ended in the arrest of about 240 people in downtown Washington.
If you arent going to provide evidence or even argue that these individuals did something actually illegal (destroying private property for example), what is it exactly that you are arguing.

(10,495 posts)The Texas Council of Clubs and Independents, a diverse group of motorcycle clubs from 1% Bandidos to Bikers for Jesus to a club who only helps abused children were meeting to get a legislative update on motorcycle profiling bills and helmet laws. They hold these regularly at different locations around the state of Texas.
The Cossacks, another MC who was not a member of the Texas Council of Clubs and who had a feud with the Bandidos showed up to start trouble. The cops, local, state and the Feds knew this ahead of time and in fact had a federal task force investigating the Bandidos. They set up cameras ahead of time and waited for the trouble to start instead of diffusing the situation. This put the restaurant staff, other patrons, and other innocent club members in jeopardy.
After the 9 killed and 18 wounded the local DA decided to arrest anyone with a motorcycle and/or leather jacket. Most of the people there were innocent bystanders who still to this day have Conspiracy to Commit Murder charges pending against them.
The first trial just finished after a wait of over two years and a lot of local home cooking allowed the DA to try the case he wanted first, the leader of the Bandidos that was present. It ended in a hung jury with only 2 wanting to convict and the DA under FBI investigation.
Just imagine, you could be like the retired couple who had just stopped there for lunch on their Honda Gold-Wing that Sunday afternoon while passing through town and wind up spending your retirement money on criminal defense attorneys to prove your innocence of something you had nothing to do with!
