Trump's Gestopo bans CDC from using words: "transgender" "fetus" "science-based" "evidence-based"

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/cdc-gets-list-of-forbidden-words-fetus-transgender-diversity/ar-BBGNo02

The Trump administration is prohibiting officials at the nation's top public health agency from using a list of seven words or phrases — including "fetus" and "transgender" — in any official documents being prepared for next year's budget.

Policy analysts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta were told of the list of forbidden words at a meeting Thursday with senior CDC officials who oversee the budget, according to an analyst who took part in the 90-minute briefing. The forbidden words are "vulnerable," "entitlement," "diversity," "transgender," "fetus," "evidence-based" and "science-based."

. . .

The longtime CDC analyst, whose job includes writing descriptions of the CDC's work for the administration's annual spending blueprint, could not recall a previous time when words were banned from budget documents because they were considered controversial.

The reaction of people in the meeting was "incredulous," the analyst said. "It was very much, 'Are you serious? Are you kidding?'?"

"In my experience, we've never had any pushback from an ideological standpoint," the analyst said.

News of the ban on certain words hasn't yet spread to the broader group of scientists at the CDC, but it's likely to provoke a backlash, the analyst said. "Our subject matter experts will not lay down quietly — this hasn't trickled down to them yet."

The question is, do government agencies have constitutional rights, in this case the 1st amendment?

But given that the bill of rights guarantees rights of people against government intrusion, taking the position that the government has rights against intrusion from itself is a bit of a head scratcher.

for any given word.

If there is a study about transgender people and they cannot use the word "transgender" there will be some word they can use. Or invent one if necessary, one that will get the idea across.

The last too: just use "the evidence is" and that "the science shows"

transgender - transsex
fetus - cell clump

it will sound even worse to them

vulnerable - susceptible
entitlement - claim, right

evidence based: denoting disciplines of health care that proceed empirically with regard to the patient and reject more traditional protocols. (the definition when googled). So just call them patient-empirical

science based: https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/about-science-based-medicine/
appears to be used as an opposite of "alternative medicine."

Science-Based Medicine is a daily blog with entries covering issues in science and medicine,[1][2] especially dangerous medical scams and practices.[3] Science-Based Medicine is noted as an influential and respected source of information about medical controversies and alternative medicine.[4][5][6][7][8]

Editorial staff[edit]
The Science-Based Medicine editorial staff describes themselves as "being alarmed at the manner in which unscientific and pseudoscientific health care ideas have increasingly infiltrated academic medicine and medicine at large"; they state that the best medicine is based on scientific principles, which includes prior plausibility, not based on evidence alone.[14]

LOL, really all that needs to be called is "medicine" as it is a science.

using every single one of the verboten words. Then sue if the are fired. They would win the suit, I guarantee you. You can't forbid people to use words that are essential to current scientific research.
