we usually try to channel the essence of our subjects to point out their hypocrisy, cupidity, greed, or as here the insanity of thier positions due to adherence to a slavish Republican mentality.

It sounded like you may have taken the quote as actual, and I wanted to avoid any mistakes along those lines.

I enjoy your application of the quote, by the way. It's a question we might ask many of these types (far more Republicans than Democrats) 24/7 when they're shilling for the President, making excuses for their behavior and hatred, repressing others rights, etc.
