the despair among thinking people. It is so hard to have hope when the social, economic and moral fabric of your society is being pulled apart, that the temptation to just turn it off, give up and hope for the best is nearly overpowering.

I said nearly.

Because we cannot allow ourselves to be overpowered by the attacks on every front of morality and common decency. We must continue to fight the good fight, hoping that in the present darkness our battle is moving us closer to light.

THAT is the aim, always has been..

Russians in Leningrad, just for one example, were fighting off not just Hitler, but Stalin as well... They never gave up hope...

Hate and racism are still, lamentably, very mainstream. And Trump and his ilk keep stirring that pot.

mayor was just elected and the white town council voted to refuse to give him keys to the mayor's office, because, you know, he's...black.

You can't make this shit up. Some of these people are like fungus on the butthole of America. I know Trump is. A big, orange, parasitic fungus. It's corroding our nation, right in front of our eyes.
