States like NJ, CA and NY need to create a new higher income tax bracket for wealthier people.

Claw back all of that federal income tax cut from 39.6 to 37 pct for higher income people. Use the money to lower their income taxes on the poor and middle class.

Also they should look at increasing their corporate taxes as well.

Cuomo and the "Independent Democratic Caucus" (HA!) won't have it in NY. They are as pro-big business as they come. And while Governor elect Murphy in my home state of NJ is talking a good game, given his Wall Street connections and the leanings of a lot of the Democrats in the State house here I don't think that will happen.

Even in Deep Blue states like ours the best we can get is socially liberal, fiscally conservative Democrats.

I can't really speak in any capacity about CA.

And now they can’t deduct state taxes from federal taxes. They would be penalized twice.
