I distrust Joe and Mika as journalists. They are anti-Trump now because it brings ratings (hence money). They embraced Trump before the election because it brought ratings. They attacked Hilary before the election because a close election helped their ratings.

Journalism should be about exposing the truth. With Joe and Mika it is about getting the ratings. Of course, the same is true about much of MSM. Rachel Maddow does real journalism. Many others do not.

My point is I always have to examine what they say or tweet with skepticism. I have agreed with much they have recently said. I am also wary of them. Truth is of prime importance for journalists. Given their history, I believe ratings are often their prime motivation.

I watch regularly because they're probably the MOST openly anti-Trump show out there. They're really commentators, not journalists.

This tweet is mild compared to Scarborough's statements. There's no more vocal opponent than Brzezinski.

Their motivations could be both personal and political. What matters is what they say. I don't even care if its genuine. What matters is they influence millions of people in positive ways.

The mass media as a whole did a pathetic job during the campaign. They've been doing a shit job for years, ever since cable started. I think they, i.e., most corporate heads, wanted Trump to win. Apprentice ratings winner. Charismatic. If it bleeds, it leads. Trump is a bloody mess.

So it's presumed ratings is always a factor. Its ALWAYS a factor. That's how you stay on the air. Broadcasters are privately owned companies. Please don't make an exception of Rachel Maddow. The fact she's reporting on Russia and Russia is a ratings hit is not coincidental.

When a network calls what it does news, honesty and integrity should come first. Diligent and honest journalism will generate ratings.

I often lament how after a mass shooting, a days news cycle will be about who was the killer, why did he do it, how many pictures of him can be shown, what about his family, what about his friends. All of this may be newsworthy but could be reported in a one hour block. But dragging it out a day is a way to drive up ratings without much investigative journalism. Not to mention it gives deranged people a day in the sun.

America needs to expect and demand more from journalists than just flashy stories and lazy journalism.

I sure would like to pull a few practical jokes on those GOP reps I saw jabbering on MSNBC last evening blasting SC Mueller.

I am sick and tired of the my fellow citizens not being heard and heeded because of campaign money contributions.
