look at their experience and credentials. In some areas, they do this just to get on the ballot. Is the guy running for sheriff qualified, no matter what his party? What about school board or county board? In some places, these are nonpartisan offices, but everyone knows their affiliation.

Vote for true Democrats where possible. Flip the local boards and offices. Be sure to tell everyone that these people, especially if they are not that qualified, are actually republicans running as Democrats.

This is more common than you think.

If elected, these people are exceptionally high risks to line up with the Blue Dogs (or the equivalent in state or local government). There are too many Democrats in Congress voting to confirm Gorsuch or overturn Obama-era regulations under the CRA.

I might make an exception, though, for a markedly red district. Maybe a real Democrat wouldn't have a chance. In that case, a former Republican who denounces the current state of the GOP might bring along enough other disgruntled Republicans, win the seat, and then vote correctly at least occasionally instead of never.

The Democrat had served in the state senate for 4 yrs as a republican. Then 4 yrs as Attorney General as a Democrat. The Republican was an Obama delegate in 2008. Not many people were aware of the Greitens' inconsistency. But, Koster's was on full display. He lost.
