I have joined FB twice and both times I have deleted my account....it is pretty much a waste of time and way too intrusive...I pretty much think of it as the rectum of the internet

The opposite is hiding in a dark closet. That's a great idea if you are a mushroom, like to eat only crap, and have no need for some light.

Being connected with friends and others with shared interests is a good thing. What we need are better tools than corporate control over our social interactions.

Monitor my kids' accounts, that's all. Fake birthday used, too. How are they going to monitor birthdates?

(In fact, there used to be a free website where your name, date of birth, and place of birth were available. And another free website to get personal info on dead people, including their social security numbers. Now you have to pay to get this info.)

I believe it's only a matter of time before Facebook makes everyone give them a cellphone number.
