Only conviction by the Senate after impeachment by the House or the 25th removes this blight.
The Democrats will take back the House... and maybe even the Senate, but that only puts a hold on legislative actions... not executive actions.
And Trump can pardon any of his crooked family or entourage.

(11,301 posts)Stepping down from the Russian investigating they might have gotten away with it. Shit they still might, I have no faith in Republicans or the Supreme Court thanks to their actions.
All this talk of a Constitutional crisis, it already started when McConnell stole the Obama Supreme Court seat. Why is that not acknowledged?

(5,101 posts)It is a legitimate concern.
But I don't think they will succeed.
It is unprecedented and somehow, it is not only an US concern. The free world is more or less concerned.
I think there is also decent people in the GOP who are not willing to trample on American values (well I hope).
Also, it seems citizens are mobilizing and ready to protest and fight any dubious attempt.
Your Constitution is strong, safeguards are numerous. Of course, this can be undermined but it will take a time they don't have.
Trump is really toxic for the GOP, I'm almost sure they will try to save what it can be saved and distance themselves, now that the midterms are coming fast.
Indeed, Neil Gorsuch got his seat via morally dubious methods even if legal.
A small good new, he is not very appreciated by his peers. Many are complaining.
I'm sorry to be almost simplistic, I'm not an English native speaker. My level might be decent for casual subjects but is a bit low for specifics ones.

Now that theyre apostates, they are completely irrelevant
The people they fooled dont listen to them anymore
Theyd be happy to jump back on a less extremist bandwagon, but that is not going to happen
Corporate America got what it wanted and
they arent giving anything back
Useful idiots like them played their part and are now cast aside, looking for a different gravy train to board
That train left the station a year ago
They blew it by suddenly developing a conscience......now they have nowhere left to go

Ive spoken to both Will and From back in the day they were the worst sort of shills, and their responses to me were total BS
Nicole Wallace was insulting when she was on the Bush bandwagon, btw, and she still exhibits that behavior as often as not
they have to live with what they've done, and the result of their accommodation to that is clear
I agree they're on the outside of the tent, pissing in, but when they were on the inside, they contributed to the new reality

(14,167 posts)It's also nearly an entire political party that has committed treason. This is the first time I can ever think of something like this occurring in our post-Revolutionary American history.
The more information that comes out, the more I am convinced that this treason has been in the works for some time. Probably since Obama was elected and this "birtherism" might be one of the first examples of Russian-backed traitors sowing dissention to destroy our democracy.

In real-estate, once they bought it and he had their money, it was caveat-emptor. With the American public, they will eventually realize they have been fed nothing but lies and deceit and they will blame Trump and the GOP. Unfortunately, they can - and already have - do a lot of damage before that realization sets in.

(1,587 posts)for years by Putin on how to use well tested dictatorial propaganda tools. Now that he controls the levers of power, Fox state television station, thousands of radio outlets and church pulpits his ideological checklist is being slowly fed to the unwary. Russia, Turkey and Egypt are among his businesses models. The recent fraudulent onslaught on Mueller ominously supported by traitors in Congress is part of the attempt to get rid of him. It is not scare mongering to say much of the fate of our nation rests on Muellers shoulders. Worth noting that the governments of his business models were subverted for the purpose of making billionaires of their ruling families. Dotard is only capable of respecting money and its power. And Mueller stands in his way while our Constitution is literally under attack and very few seem to notice. Dotards recent little understood statement that unfortunately people will die is a very sobering reality check.

(38,439 posts)None at all..
This game he plays, and he plays it like a game...is no game. It is life and death for many, not a game.
Not a real estate deal. He may think it is a game, or a con, but it is not. There are many on our side of the fence and a few on the other side who know the truth as stated in the Original Post "U.S.A institutions are more powerful and capable than a bunch of low life real estate con men and their enablers..."
There are those in the media, who Trump puts down, who have more integrity and honesty in one finger nail, then Trump can "imagine in his entire body and those of his sons."
This U.S.A. system has survived, a Civil War, 2 World Wars, McCarthyism, Space Race, Viet Nam War, Depressions, Recessions, Lies, Thievery, Corruption, Good Times, Bad Times. Even Times. New Inventions (not imagined during the time this country was founded..for example the one that is being used to write this) Hatred, Evil, Love, Change, and so on and on....Trump's view is a very narrow view that can be described in one simple word....just one................only one....ok here it is........................
..........me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me.
That is the word, 20 times over, that Trump cares about..and the only word he cares about..
Because that is his favorite thought, he can not look beyond himself. As a larger percentage of people
see this, a larger percentage will turn against him. In the end, I believe he will lose the game, big time.
And the U.S.A will survive. It won't be easy, but it has never been easy...
