Trump just asked by ABC on South Lawn about emails: "Not looking good, not looking good."

was his response.

He also said he has no plans to fire Mueller.

Sounds like he is resigned, perhaps? (Not that he will "resign" office, but that he is beginning to accept the inevitable in terms of damning evidence.)

@POTUS was just asked on the South Lawn about special counsel obtaining transition emails. "Not looking good, not looking good."

I asked if he is considering firing Robert Mueller, he answered: "No, I'm not."

He is not a precise thinker, and he doesn't have much of a vocabulary, so this is the best he can do. And he instinctively gives himself an out so he can claim success no mater what happens. He needs it because he is so insecure.

What did he say the other day about the FBI? "We're going to make it bigger and better than ever before"? How stupid is that?

And the acceptance that he cannot do anything about Mueller.

Edited to add: Or perhaps he meant it was not looking good for Mueller's use of the emails???

I imagine they've been pacifying him, up to this point. I assume he hasn't been tweeting today, either?

Two questions:

If he resigns, can/will they go ahead and indict him if the charges are bad enough? They can't as long as he is POTUS, right?

Will they continue with the investigation and charge all the others who have been found to be deeply involved in the collusion or conspiracy with Russia? Other charges? It's beginning to look like there might be a bunch of Republican congresscritters with dirty hands and sticky fingers, so wouldn't they be forced to resign/be charged?

I don't want to see Trump resign and let everyone off the hook, including him.

and he thinks his inner circle will either claim to not remember or claim privilege or or their version of events will not be given credibility over his version. He has been careful to delegate and keep a firewall of people as go-between conduits without leaving a paper or email trail and thinks he can maintain plausible deniability so blame falls on other people. He has gotten by with his schemes all his life with no repercussions.

He thinks ultimately he has power of pardon, support of Repubs and of course Putin loves him and will protect him.
