Are you serious? tRump stuns confidants by insisting Mueller will clear him soon

This could help explain why tRump says he's not considering firing Mueller, for now.

The political news media are crowing about Donald tRump’s assurance that he’s not considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller, but new reporting suggests that condition could be very, very temporary.
<snip>
tRump’s response is also rendered meaningless by the fact that he can’t fire Mueller directly, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein — the man who does have the power to fire Mueller — has said he sees no cause to do so.

None of this means that tRump won’t try, though. According to new reporting by CNN, tRump has been telling confidants that he expects Mueller to clear him “soon,” and write a letter to that effect. tRump’s absurd belief, stoked by his legal team, stunned at least one confidant:

“The President’s mantra is ‘All this Russia stuff, it’s all going to wrap up soon.’ He repeats it as fact,” said one source who speaks to tRump. “Part of me is like — ‘Are you serious? You believe this?'”
<snip>

If Mueller busts tRump’s bubble this week, then tRump will be faced with a dilemma that we all share: Do Republicans really have the courage to hold tRump accountable if he orchestrates this final act of obstruction?

Given this gang of Republicans, that’s a tossup, at best.
Unfortunately for tRump, though, the American people will also have a say, and they aren’t about to sit still for that. - Share Blue Media

66 million of us already knew that Dotard believes his own lies. We knew that before and we know it now, "source!" What took you so long? He's unfit to be president and he should be removed before millions are killed by his careless actions.

From a number of ways...Mueller is a republican could be he takes one for the team and scuttles his own investigation somehow toward end...or...a couple of phone calls and a horse head from trump’s mafia buddies and key evidence all of a sudden goes up “missing”...there are a number of ways this goes sideways.

The other possibility is that trump has become delusional over the years by making all his problems go away with money and this is a problem money won’t fix. All the lawyers and money in the world won’t make the crimes go away.

Look at the Manafort prosecution. If there was even a whiff of collusion or treason in the evidence, Mueller's team wouldn't be arguing about track changes in an op-ed and the judge wouldn't be letting Manafort fly around.

With collusion off the table, the next most likely charge is obstruction, either for telling folks to lie to investigators or for Comey. Whether Comey's firing could be obstruction has been argued ad nauseum, however, I'd say that for any prosecution, it would be a pretty thin charge to go forward with.

So, what's left is did Trump tell Flynn to lie? Given that Flynn has already admitted lying once, even if he did finger Trump, I can't imagine any prosecutor building a case around testimony like that.

Bail was set as directed by the Constitution. The prosecutions are not thin; I’d be willing to go to trial with what Mueller has. The implicit pressure on Manafort are addional charges. Mueller is not limited to what is already charged.

In every bail hearing I've ever participated in or sat through, the prosecutor makes sure to let the judge know of every bit of uncharged or as-yet-uncharged conduct.

If Trump doesn't see himself in imminent legal jeopardy, he may not feel the urge to lash out and start firing people, namely Rosenstein, to get rid of Mueller.

As long as he continues to believe that, Mueller is safe, so I hope he goes right on being deluded.

Granted, what ever that plan is, it's not the brightest. My guess is he wants to either fire everyone around Mueller, or start a distraction/war. Or, he thinks he's got something on Mueller and can get things dropped.

Or, his lawers are cooking up something that they're telling him will work.
