Following the Steinle verdict, my fox-viewing mom believed justice had not been served because the case had already been tried in the press and he was guilty.

The Bergdahl verdict, similarly, was a travesty of justice, in my mom's view, because he had already been tried and convicted by right-wing media.

She believes she has all the facts about the case, so when the decision doesn't turn out the way she expects, it undermines her trust in the judicial system, not in her news source.
