McCain to Kissinger protesters: 'Get out of here, you low-life scum'
Source: USA Today
Sen. John McCain didnt mince words with the protesters who challenged Henry Kissinger at a Senate hearing.
Get out of here, you low-life scum, the Arizona Republican said Thursday to members of Code Pink, the anti-war group.
Code Pink members chanted Arrest Henry Kissinger for war crimes as the former secretary of State walked into the Armed Services Committee hearing chaired by McCain, R-Ariz. The hearing featured testimony from Kissinger, George Shultz and Madeleine Albright, all former secretaries of State, on global challenges and U.S. national security strategy.
McCain had U.S. Capitol Police remove the protesters, who said they were acting in the name of the people of Chile, Vietnam, East Timor, Cambodia and Laos. Shultz, secretary of State in the Reagan administration, can be seen on the video standing up at one point to get the protesters to leave.
Ive been a member of this committee for many years and I have never seen anything as disgraceful and as outrageous and as despicable as the last demonstration that just took place, McCain said, telling the protesters that youre going to have to shut up or else Im going to have you arrested.

My guess is when he had his independent streak challenging the Bush Family Crime Syndicate someone must've invited him to a party with underage girls and filmed the activities to ensure his compliance for the next decade.

(55,745 posts)McCain, Kissinger, Schultz and Albright are war criminals. Ms. Albright, for example, claimed the price of letting thousands of children die every month from preventable illness and malnourishmet was "worth it." The half-million or more deaths were the a result of economic sanctions against the Dictator we installed, Saddam Hussein. These are innocent children of a country which never attacked the United States nor threatened to attack the United States nor was capable in any way of damaging the national security of the United States.
Which proves what we got now is "Just Us" for just some people. The rest of us are mopes and cannon fodder.

McCain linked to group in Iran-Contra case
Organization had ties to former NAZI collaborators, right-wing death squads
Associated Press
updated 10/7/2008 6:10:04 AM ET
WASHINGTON -- GOP presidential nominee John McCain has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair.
McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.
The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe.
The council's founder, retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub, said McCain became associated with the organization in the early 1980s as McCain was launching his political career in Arizona. Singlaub said McCain was a supporter but not an active member in the group.
'New guy on the block'
"McCain was a new guy on the block learning the ropes," Singlaub told The Associated Press in an interview. "I think I met him in the Washington area when he was just a new congressman. We had McCain on the board to make him feel like he wasn't left out. It looks good to have names on a letterhead who are well-known and appreciated.
"I don't recall talking to McCain at all on the work of the group," Singlaub said.
The renewed attention over McCain's association with Singlaub's group comes as McCain's campaign steps up criticism of Obama's dealings with William Ayers, a college professor who co-founded the Weather Underground and years later worked on education reform in Chicago alongside Obama. Ayers held a meet-the-candidate event at his home when Obama first ran for public office in the mid-1990s.

(135,425 posts)I think McCain's overreaction to what really was a rather small demonstration is what was silliest about the whole thing--I mean really, people in public life are accustomed to criticism. His comments were a living and breathing example of poutrage. That wasn't the 'worst thing ever' -- there are lots of things way worse than a few people wearing pink with faux blood on their hands waving signs and a pair of handcuffs in this world. USA is a democracy, and protest is part of our fabric.
I do fault the Capitol Police in one regard, though--the protesters were entirely TOO close to that table, and one of them was dangling metal handcuffs. You'd think they'd be picked up by the metal detectors going in to the building, perhaps they were. If that is the case, then, I get the sense that the CP may have been aware that this was going to happen because they had a lot of security in the room--but I think they should have done a better job with the spacing.

I'm now scratching my head, trying to think of what a similarly fitting karmic demise would be for McInsane. Somehow a 'rest home' does not quite fit the bill -- a little too placid and comfortable, imo -- although I'm at a loss as to what John's karma should secure for him.
Some people simply deserve an extra helping of suffering in this lifetime to right their karmic scales.
