New ISIS Video Purports to Show Beheading of Japanese Reporter

Source: ABC

A 66-second ISIS video purports to show the beheading of Japanese reporter Kenji Goto, a gruesome end to a week of failed negotiations.

There was no immediate comment from Japanese or U.S. intelligence officials, but the video appears to show the detached head of the 46-year-old reporter who was captured late last year by the terror group while on assignment in Syria.

The video, titled “A Message to the Japanese Government,” begins with Goto on his knees in a river valley. A masked man with a knife in his hand speaks with a British accent, addressing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

“Let the nightmare for Japan begin,” the executioner says as he puts a knife to Goto’s neck.

Is there proof the beheading actually occurred today?? The Japanese and Jordanians had been asking for proof of life and never got it......my gut tells me the Japanese journalist and Jordanian pilot were beheaded last week and ISIS was just trying to get their hostage released with no intention of good faith on their end. Radical Muslim scumbags!

8. I've only heard about the shadows and the likelihood that they may have been in different places

"Experts are analysing them [the video images]," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a press conference on Wednesday morning (local time). It is believed a composite video may have been made using footage of the two hostages in a different place, or in which the hostages were videotaped separately.

In the video clip, two men who are believed to be Haruna Yukawa, 42, and Kenji Goto, 47, are seen kneeling in a desert. A man clad all in black stands between them, wielding a knife and making other intimidating actions.

The shadows of the man on the left side of the screen, believed to be Goto, and the person in the center extend back and to the right. However, the shadow of the man on the viewer's right, believed to be Yukawa, extends back and to the left.

The shadows of the hostages' heads, which appear on their necks, are also cast in opposite directions.

The end result of this will be that good people will not go to their region, they will flee just as AA's did the South. The plantation mentality of ISIS and Boko Harum is not about capitalism or colonialism, but it is the same animal in the end.

People are commodities to them, used in the most despicable ways and discarded when they resist or are no longer are of any use, for wannabe oligarchs. It is imperialism without a monarch, they intend to take all the territory they want to rule. They just dress it up differently.

And they only want the whole world.

That's one way of looking at the caliphate. Another is that it is the fallout of the BushCo wars with people displaced and looking for a homeland. The Kurds have not committed genocide AFAIK, in their pursuit of redrawing boundaries to have a safe zone. They are also hated by ISIS as borderline communists because they are more secularist than theocratic, and have built a modern state in most ways due to capitalism. See how all the old labels and boxes for ideology and social movements are collapsing.

The caliphate, also, is not at all a new idea and has great staying power in the minds of that region. It predated any European and American forays into the Middle East. Hopefully ideals will win out but at this time in human history, with less resources, climate change and more people than ever, it's coming to a head that may not respect idealism.

And it will take what some people love to hate, government agents of deadly force, to protect those who don't want to live under their boot. This is an unpopular idea, peace and love doesn't always deny warfare. I hate coming to such an unhappy conclusion, personally.

But I don't write history, nor do I make it and have little to no effect except with my vote on the scale we discuss on the international scale. I can only work on my small piece of the world.
