Rand Paul Belonged to HIV-Denying Group

Source: TDB

Rand Paul in 2009 said he was a member of a physicians’ association that has publicized debunked medical theories, including links between vaccines and autism, as well as abortion and breast cancer. A conference sponsored by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons even said that HIV did not cause AIDS. “I am not a newcomer to AAPS,” Paul told the group in 2009 while he was running for the U.S. Senate. Paul added that he’d been a member for more than two decades, and in the words of The New York Times, “relied on its research, statistics, and views about the role of government in medicine.” Paul told the Times on Tuesday he isn’t anti-vaccination despite saying that he had heard from parents whose children had suffered “profound mental disorders” after being vaccinated. “That’s not what I said. I said I’ve heard of people who’ve had vaccines and they see a temporal association and they believe that.”

Denying all science and facts based on internet rumors and quack medicine. Not to mention the fact that HIV-denialists have killed thousands in South Africa.

condoms prevent transmission of the virus. It's the number one killer in Africa and the Pope says it is a sin to use condoms. This of course has killed more than the anti vaccine folks have managed so far, with over a million a year still dying on that continent.

Dr. Miniature Texan Liberty Christ Rand Paul

Sounds about right to me.

Rand Paul, now stands as another member of my permanent fecal register.

I lost a brother to AIDS in the 80s, so he and his deniers can go pound salt into a rat hole at the Crowbar Hotel!

What he teaches is a form of HIV denialism the Church claims that condoms spread HIV and they condemn their use. HIV is the largest killer in Africa, where too many people listen to the Bishops. 1.4 million last year.
So while Rand Paul is a giant idiot, the rest of Congress are playing the role of promotional team for a person whose toxic anti science theories are doing enormous harm. To me, anyone who endorses or legitimizes deadly quackery is a bad person.
