Voter ID, winner-take-all election bills advance from committee

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Martha Stoddard

LINCOLN — Two bills guaranteed to generate controversy advanced from committee to the full Nebraska Legislature Wednesday.

Legislative Bill 111 would require most voters to show government-issued photo identification before casting a ballot.

LB 10 would return Nebraska to the winner-takes-all system of awarding electoral college votes in presidential elections.

Both advanced on a 7-1 vote from the Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, which is dominated by conservative Republicans.

But in the blue states, we have to have proportional allocation of EVs because it's the only fair way to treat Republicans.

No, on second thought, not funny at all.

It puts them in line with everybody else except Maine (and it's only 23 years old, btw).

That said, I'd be OK with voter ID if we gave everyone an ID card, or a tattoo of a barcode on the forehead.

As long as citizens are going to meekly accept defeat by these fascist bastards, they will continue to see their rights undermined. Our forefathers would have never prevailed in todays wishy-washy society spineless society. They would have just rolled over and obeyed King George.
