Watergate figure Chuck Colson reportedly near death

Source: CNN

Chuck Colson, the convicted Watergate figure turned evangelist, is near death after suffering a brain hemorrhage earlier this month, his media representatives said Wednesday.

“It is with a heavy, but hopeful heart that I share with you that it appears our friend, brother and founder will soon be home with the Lord,” Jim Liske, CEO of Prison Fellowship Ministries, which Colson founded, said in a statement.

“Chuck's condition took a decided turn yesterday, and the doctors advised Patty and the family to gather by his bedside,” Liske said, referring to Colson’s wife.

Colson, 80, underwent surgery this month to remove a pool of clotted blood on the surface of his brain.

Hope he finds in the next life what he couldn't find in this one...and that he gets the reward he truly deserves.

For a guy who said that ... and then figuratively did it, well, he is going to have a lot to account for if there is a Supreme Judge somewhere beyond this life.

Lying that he's not a homophobe

Lying about what Hillary Clinton says

Lying about what President Obama says

For someone who claims to have found faith, he's still a remarkable shitbag. I hope he recovers, and then is publicly humiliated.

I knew Chuck, saw him nearly every day when I lived and worked in the Washington area. I won't speak ill of him as he's dying. He achieved an enormous amount of power in the evangelical Christian world -- truly leveraged his White House experiences to gain a fan base that hung on his every word. He had a daily radio commentary beamed everywhere, he had inserts that were distributed in church bulletins, he had a donor base for his non-profit that was immense. Quite a platform for his underlying political agenda. That rise to power was a model for those who get booted out of political life.

not to say ill of the dying.
I do not believe in an afterlife, but if there is one, I hope he gets the punishment he truly deserves.

maybe the scum will at least do a Lee Atwater deathbed confession, to admit all his sins.
