Islamic State militants 'burn to death 45 in Iraq'

Jihadist militants from Islamic State (IS) have burned to death 45 people in the western Iraqi town of al-Baghdadi, the local police chief says.

Exactly who these people were and why they were killed is not clear, but Col Qasim al-Obeidi said he believed some were members of the security forces.

IS fighters captured much of the town, near Ain al-Asad air base, last week.

I believe this report because not so long ago there was a report that Islamic Empire of Snuff Flicks had paraded a number of prisoners in orange jump suits while promising to burn them alive. This may be the new policy for resisters, given that the crucifixations and beheadings don't seem to have worked.

One does get the sense that portions of the world are sliding into utter despair and tragedy. This however - it causes the mind to boggle.

We were discussing the terrorist tactics of the Viet Cong. They would go into a village to kill and maim the head and his family in front of the rest of the villagers. The message they were sending is that you better side with us because no one can stop us from doing this to you except us. I see this is the same motive on the part of ISIL, Boko Haram and other groups like this. The primary target are the local people in the region. The fact that it scares and pisses off Europe and the U.S. is just gravy.

Fighting to the death sounds more reasonable that burning, beheading, or crucifixion.

Really. Kill a few horribly then the majority will go along peacefully and not keep fighting.

However, when there are no rules there are no rules. So they can expect to get the same back and more.

busted out of various prisons in the region. Couple that with the criminals and wannabe gangsters they attract from the West and you've got a society which is basically the scum of the earth congregated in one place.
