Marijuana fans converge on city for Boston Cannabis Convention this weekend

BOSTON — Marijuana fans are converging on Boston this weekend for a two-day convention about all things pot-related.

The Boston Cannabis Convention includes panels on the cultivation of marijuana for patients and caregivers, an examination of the medicinal use of marijuana, a look at the politics of pot, and a panel on cooking with cannabis.

The convention takes place Saturday and Sunday at The Castle at Park Plaza in downtown Boston. The convention comes amid a growing acceptance of marijuana.

Massachusetts voters in recent years have passed ballot questions to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of pot and to create medical marijuana dispensaries across the state. No dispensaries have opened yet. Marijuana activists have also pledged to put another question on the 2016 ballot that would fully legalize marijuana in Massachusetts.
