KyleBusch hospitalized after wreck

Source: ESPN

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Kyle Busch was placed on a stretcher and taken to Halifax Medical Center following a hard crash into the inside, concrete wall Saturday in an Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

The accident occurred when Busch was racing directly behind JGR teammate Erik Jones. Jones got turned and Busch got clipped. Busch's car sped across an area of the track used as an entrance to the road course portion of the speedway and then slammed hard into a concrete wall. Busch climbed out of the car before laying down on the grass near his car.

The wall did not have a steel-and-foam energy-reduction barrier (SAFER), which NASCAR has had installed in the turns and other areas at tracks but has consistently been criticized for not having everywhere on the inside and outside walls on ovals.

And why I should care.

Not to be pissy, but lots of people have car wrecks, die, etc. Is this person somehow special?

Not nascar stuff. Pretty soon we'll be covering WWF (not the wildlife group.)

Just like NASCAR World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has a lot of fans. So when a serious injury occurs to one of these athletes or entertainers it is news. I'll bet if this post was about a red carpet celebrity being seriously injured your response would be a lot different.

So for future reference keep your ignorance to yourself, please...

This is a prelude to a nationally televised, premeire sporting event - tens of thousands in attendance, over 100000 on hand for the big show tomorrow.
Kyle Busch is immensely talented, cocky, and controversial, one of the leading drivers in the sport.
And this affects you how? Literally every time you get into a car, you reap the benefits of technology developed through racing. The manufacturers of the car you likely own spend millions on the sport, in one form or another, because it serves as a technology incubator, and provides training and motivation for their employees.
Many casual observers belive that there is no real talent, skill, or athleticisim involved in motorsports. They could not be more wrong.

Both top shelf drivers, but Kyle is phenominal. I'll edit... And, yes, they can both be colossal jerks.
