German chancellor Angela Merkel is to boycott a WWII memorial parade in Moscow on 9 May due to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

This is a huge diplomatic in-your-face to Russia from Merkel, who has been an even-keeled moderator between Putin & the EU/The west/the US.

Expect pushback from the DU fan club of the pariah Putin.

When was the last time A US President went to Ho Chin Minh City (Saigon) for the annual April 30 "Liberation/National Unity day"? Oh NEVER? for it celebrates the defeat of the US backed South Vietnamese Government. i.e. the day the North Vietnamese Army entered Saigon.

That Merkel is making a big deal of "Boycotting" the event, means something, but her NOT going means nothing. Worse, it could be Merkel trying to look more pro US then she really is, talk is cheap and this Action means nothing.
