Religious broadcaster warns Christians to ‘prepare for martyrdom’ if Supreme Court legalizes gay mar
Source: Raw Story
Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association and host of a daily radio program, did not specify what she meant by that but her context was clear.
Homosexual marriage is going to bring about the tip of the spear of the battle were going to face, Rios said Thursday to a gathering of religious right activists and pastors.
In Massachusetts, where homosexual marriage has been legal for 10 years, the stories would make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, she said, although she did not share any of those hair-raising examples.
She told the Christian activists to stop playing it safe, telling them the Bible encouraged bold action.
You must prepare for martyrdom, Rios said. I dont know what its going to look like, but its coming.

This is the same as saying prepare to die quietly? No, it is a message to arm yourselves against the killing government....seems more than close to the legal line.

(4,742 posts)Even openly advocating violence is OK as long as you aren't in a situation where you're attempting to, and also have a reasonable chance of, inciting criminal acts:
the constitutional guarantees of free speech and free press do not permit a State to forbid or proscribe advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.
It's a very high bar to meet, and I'm OK with that.

(50,557 posts)I think a 2' x 4' plate would be just dandy...you could cut it diagonally and have two blades. And I think you're going to need two; once you get a guillotine and start using it you'll really like it and want another one.
Given that, PLEASE sharpen it with a belt sander instead of a grinding wheel; non sparking metal can't be ground on an abrasive wheel because it'll clog and eventually explode.

(40,168 posts)simply because taking two landscape timbers and fashioning them into a "cross" configuration without a kit with detailed instructions or a YouTube video would be a daunting task for these folks.
Also, the idea of building something so big and bulky while one's hands are clasped in a perpetual state of prayer could be a problem.
DIY isn't for everyone. Folks like Ms. Rios should leave it to their paid staffers.

(4,490 posts)martyrdom usually referenced events occurring after some miraculous end times prophesies that I know will never occur. I figure that's the one reason our Christian crazies aren't part of any massive organized "jihad" like what you see among middle east extremists yet. Unfortunately, there's still more than enough vague fear mongering like this to inspire plenty of lone wolf lunatics.
