Jeb Bush Had Another Email Account While Florida Governor

Source: ABC News

As Florida governor, Jeb Bush used another, previously unreported email address, records show — the newest wrinkle in an evolving debate over public officials' use of private email accounts.

When Bush released thousands of emails from his tenure as Florida's governor as part of his preparations to run for president next year, he did so from the email account he shared openly, jeb@jeb.org.

Those emails also include references to another email address, jeb@gencom.net. Bush said through a spokeswoman that he was unaware of the account, although records showed that people wrote to him there more than 400 times between 1999 and 2004.

I trust we'll now see dozens of DU posts about how this story will destroy Bush's ability to run for President?

1. So you're fine with that?

For the record, have no idea of how Hillary's email issue affects her electability, although it was, at best, an absurd situation.

So as long as Jeb isn't a democrat the story will get ignored

3. This may end up like Romney and the ACA

Romney could not really attack the ACA because he was the father of an identical program. Romney's attacks on the ACA were sad and not credible. Jeb may be unable to make any attacks on Sec. Clinton's e-mails for the same reason-he did the same thing and had a hidden account

4. I wouldn't be surprised if he had an email account that we'll never know about, that

was web-based, Yahoo or Hotmail or AOL, e.g., that he used to communicate with that girlfriend he dumped in a hurry last year, when he was starting to think about running....and I'm not even talking about this woman: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=121679

Of course, that's only sotto voce rumor and all...but I believe it. A lot of people have heard the story too, and a lot of 'em are Republicans.

Of course, they won't cover that story, any more than they'll cover his financial shenanigans outside of liberal-friendly publications: http://www.salon.com/2014/12/11/jeb_bushs_damning_secret_history_partner/

After all, IOKIYAR!

no traction for another Bush even in the GOP

they're still smarting from their 2006-8 losses and rightfully blame Bushes for it

As far as this newly discovered email address is concerned, if he conducted any public business at all over it then those records belong to the State of Florida and not to him personally.

Any mixing of public and private record sets makes the resulting set public. If you don't have this rule then public documents can be misappropriated by managing them through private addresses, and that is clearly anti-democratic as it obstructs public oversight of actions done in the name of the public and with public funds.

"Court releases thousands of emails, documents in John Doe investigation despite Walker fighting against it
Posted on February 19, 2014 by .
Although the usual suspects in the Walker administration and the Republicans defending his dismal record will blame Democratic gubernatorial challenger Mary Burke for the release of documents, Court of Appeals Judge Patricia Curley ordered the release of over 27,000 emails and 434 pages of documents of Walker’s deputy chief of staff while he was Milwaukee County executive, Kelly Rindfleisch.

While the Republican Governors Association, strapped with Governor Christie’s George Washington Bridge scandal as their chairman, have released sloppy Karl Rove-like negative ads timed with the document release attacking Walker challenger Mary Burke. They must know the incoming damage that will hit the Walker re-election campaign as the documents possibly link him to knowing about what he said he didn’t know. The Wisconsin Club For Growth, with deep ties to the Koch brothers and involved in the John Doe II investigation, lost out in their attempt to block the release of the documents.

Apparently Kelly Rindfleisch was just a giggly gaggle when she shared that SKW (Scott Walker) and others were in the “inner circle” of the secret network set up for illegal activities."
