George Pataki Says Bet on Him to Run For President

George Pataki, the former three-term New York governor, has a tip for gamblers: Place your chips on his running for president.
Pataki has traveled to New Hampshire six times since September and two weeks ago appeared at the Republican National Committees donor retreat in Boca Raton, Florida. In an interview with Rita Cosby on WABC in New York, Pataki said hell probably run, suggesting that the only hold ups are campaign-finance laws that would limit his fundraising once he formally declares.
If you care about the country, its very hard to sit on the sideline if you believe you have the ability to run a government like this countrys well, Pataki said Sunday. At this point, I am strongly inclined to do it.

Replace "Pataki" with "Trump", and the message is pretty much interchangeable with respect to personal ego and likelihood of success.

(67,782 posts)....he was at Saratoga on Travers Day, signing autographs. Some guy came running up to his wife (who was next to me) saying "I got Pataki's autograph". I looked at it and said, "that says Al D'Amato", then added that the only thing he'd done so far as Governor was raise the speed limit to 65!
