The difference between Democrats and Republicans is demonstrated by the fact that Hillary Clinton was able to pile up 500,000 Facebook likes in the 15 minutes after her new page was launched compared to the 166,000+ that Jeb Bush has gotten since 2012.
National Journal reported on the Clinton Facebook support growth:
When youre running for president in a social media world, people respond all at once, too: Clintons Facebook page received just over 470,000 likes within 10 minutes of launching. At the time of this writing, the page has 499,254 likes. A Facebook spokesperson said the page launched concurrently with Clintons announcement, which means it began with zero likes.
Topping the page is a link to Clintons official campaign website and her announcement video, Clintons announcement video, which has already garnered more than 13,000 likes.
In contrast to Clinton, Jeb Bush only has 166,000+ Facebook likes. Clinton will likely rapidly pass both Ted Cruz (1.2 million+ likes) and Rand Paul (1.8 million+) in Facebook likes. Unlike Mitt Romney in 2012, Clinton doesnt have to buy fake social media likes and follows. The outpouring of support for Hillary Clinton is real, and it is impressive.
The support for Clintons new Facebook page continues to grow. Her campaign has now passed 515,000 likes and counting.

Welcome to the social network, Mrs. Clinton.
David Knowles
She's a holdout no more.
At approximately 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Hillary Clinton joined Facebook. Four hours later, her page boasted close to 555,000 likes, and the campaign kickoff video she'd posted on it had been viewed almost 1,010,000 times. Not bad for a rookie.
While Clinton has, until Sunday, avoided hopping onto the Facebook bandwagon, she hasn't eschewed social networking altogether. In fact, her 3.27 million Twitter followers dwarfs those of her Republican rivals. Jeb Bush has just 176,ooo Twitter followers, while Rand Paul has 593,000.
Off to great start in terms of the number of likes she amassed in the first few hours on Facebook, Clinton still has some ground to make up. Texas Senator Ted Cruz, by comparison, has just over 1,215,000 likes, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has 1,700,000, Rand Paul has 1,885,000, and Marco Rubio counts some 725,000. But those politicians have been on Facebook for years, not hours, and even in that short amount of time, Clinton has already blown past Bush (167,000 likes), Scott Walker (228,000) and Bobby Jindal (233,000).
Last week, Clinton hired Stephanie Hannon, Google's director of product management for civic innovation and social impact, as her campaign's chief technology officer, the Washington Post reported....................

(23,664 posts)The article suggests Clinton would make a better president because she has more likes than Bush, Cruz, or Paul.
Kim Kardashian has 24 million likes. Enough said.

(430 posts)The page was re-created from an old one. All her previous likes carried over. I know because when I checked the page, it showed I had already Liked it.
That's not to say Hillary's grassroots campaign isn't going to be lightyears ahead of anything the Koch puppets can put together, but let's not start off the campaign with BS.
