Sheriff's Right-Hand Man Quits In Wake Of Deputy's Killing Of Unarmed Man

Source: Talking Points Memo

The No. 2 official in the Tulsa, Oklahoma sheriff's office resigned on Monday after documents were released accusing him of intimidating employees to promote a white reserve deputy who later killed an unarmed black man, according to the Tulsa World newspaper.

Undersheriff Tim Albin’s resignation, which will be effective at the end of the week, was announced by Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz during a board of commissioners meeting, the newspaper reported.

"Given the gravity of the current situation ... he agreed that maybe it's time for a change," Glanz said. "I will continue to examine my organization, and there will be more changes in the coming days as I work to restore the integrity to the Sheriff's Office which the public has come to expect.”

The reserve deputy in question, Robert Bates, fatally shot the unarmed black man, Eric Harris, on April 2 when, according to the deputy, he mistook his gun for his Taser. Bates was charged with second-degree manslaughter and pleaded not guilty.

So, Number 2 resigns, what about Number 1....Remember, "I am not a crook."....I will never forget that...guess what?.
.He was a crook, and so is Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz. But it will take time to prove it, if the good guys do not give up. I hope they don't..

What is different is the cameras are everywhere and dirt cheap. So cheap that millions upon millions of people have them. and........Now the truth about many cops..(not all) comes out for all to see. The truth in my opinion is that many cops in the U.S use excessive force when it isn't necessary, in fact, fatal force when it isn't necessary. But, now we see it for the first time.

And what is more unbelievable is that even when recorded, cops are literally getting away with murder

Without cameras, this is a "good shoot". The reserve deputy is praised for his actions. It's a local story, forgotten about in 3 days. With cameras, the truth of the matter comes out. There are actually consequences for the police for doing the wrong thing.

Isn't it known that the sheriff himself is the one who's known this reserve deputy from way back in the day? And now they're trying to sell us on the idea that his #2 is really the one responsible for promoting this murderer, and he's taking the fall for it?

Give me a friggin' break. Everyone else in the world isn't just a buncha dumb schmucks, fellas.

Makes one wonder if, when, how the fall guy got threatened, and what the treat was.

Hey, I'm just a guy who watches tv and has seen a lot of plots...
