Fulton prosecutor reviewing 2011 Union City police shooting

ATLANTA — Fulton County's top prosecutor says he's reviewing the 2011 fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man by a Union City police officer after two news organizations uncovered evidence that a grand jury did not see.

District Attorney Paul Howard said he's going to look "very closely" at re-presenting the case to a grand jury after receiving the information from WSB-TV and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In December 2011, Ariston Waiters was shot and killed after police were called to a home in Union City.

Police said Waiters was shot after a struggle for officer Luther Lewis' weapon. Waiters' relatives disputed the account.
