MONROE John Forbes Nash Jr., the Princeton University mathematician whose life story was the subject of the film "A Beautiful Mind," and his wife of nearly 60 years died Saturday in a taxi crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, police said.
Nash was 86. Alicia Nash was 82. The couple lived in Princeton.
The Nashes were in a taxi traveling southbound in the left lane of the New Jersey Turnpike, State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams said. The driver of the Ford Crown Victoria lost control as he tried to pass a Chrysler in the center lane, crashing into a guard rail.

(12,029 posts)I always buckle up, but sometimes you end up in a cab where the female end of the buckle is buried under the seat. I think cabs should lose their certification if they don't have working, accessible belts.

(82,383 posts)at those ages it was going to be sooner or later and probably in a slower worse way. At least that's the case. OTOH, unexpected and due to someone's criminal negligence.

(18,791 posts)Jennifer Connelly played her movie was never quite accurate since he was Bisexual , in 2001 they never would have put that in there. Today they probably would have worked it in somehow. So when they say she kept him together , for the most part yes except when the seperated (divorced??) Still that was a great movie and one of Jennifers last great movies.. although she seems to have a new one out Aloft that might be okay. Think Darren A does things to actresses don't know.

(1,786 posts)He was a brilliant man and his wife must have been a wonderful And incredibly strong lady to love and support a man with such deep seeded issues.
That was a excellent movie. The scene where everyone walked up and gave him a pen was moving and hopefully real to life.
Always wear the seatbelt.
RIP
