I saw homes destroyed, road and bridges washed away, but I hope the Texas Representatives and Senators don't start asking for money to FUND INFRASTRUCTURE.

They've been refusing to fund money for infrastructure that America needs desperately, so now they've lost a bridge or two and they'll want a hand out from the rest of us.

These climate deniers should NOT get any Federal help or money!

that would be fair. But Texas is one of the few red states that is a donor state. We pay more federal taxes than we get back in services. So punishing Joe and Joanne Average doesn't work for me. I went to college in San Marcos. I was there for a bad flood in 1981. Central TX has always had bad floods because it's hilly (and beautiful) an the rainfall up stream all comes rushing down. It's just the mature of the geography. It's definately gotten hotter, but I'm not sure flooding has become more of a problem. It always been pretty bad.

Houston is flat as a pancake, and we get into trouble when we have a lot of rain for several days. The ground gets saturated and the eater has nowhere to go. Hurricanes are no fun, but heaven help us if we get another slow moving tropical storm like we had in 1991.

are near my old high school. They are run down and at least 50 years old. Only 40 units were heavily damaged, but it will be days to weeks before they can check all the water, gas and electrical to make sure its safe and habitable. 1600 poor people are homeless for the time being.
