BB King may have been poisoned, daughters allege

Source: Associated Press

Monday 25 May 2015 20.52 BST

Two of BB King’s heirs who have been most outspoken about the blues legend’s final days are accusing his two closest aides of poisoning him.

Daughters Karen Williams and Patty King allege in documents provided by their lawyer to the Associated Press that King’s business manager, LaVerne Toney, and his personal assistant, Myron Johnson, killed their father.

The Clark County coroner, John Fudenberg, said on Monday that an autopsy was performed on Sunday on King’s embalmed body. He said test results would take up to eight weeks.

Lieutenant Ray Steiber of Las Vegas police confirmed that homicide detectives were investigating.

Diabetes, a bad Heart and was placed into Hospice at Home three weeks before his death. The Daughters need to stop it and show some respect towards their Father. Shameful.

RIP -- The King of Blues - BB King

He'd been performing almost to the end and it would have been counterproductive for anyone to end that revenue stream. Once he entered hospice, the end was inevitable. He was 89 and likely the only meds in his system will be the comfort drugs to ease his suffering.

BB King deserves better than this.

Especially to still be performing is a testament to his strength and will. I agree let the man rest in peace.

If there's sufficient evidence to warrant a police investigation, you'd think there'd be enough to convince a probate court from making any quick awards, so their interests could be protected. And in less than two months, no one will have forgotten BB King and the accusations would be even more astonishing, given there'd be investigatory backing for them.

But that's just me, thinking how I'd handle the uncertainty surrounding the death of my 89 year old father.

He needed help getting on stage and off. Yes, he seemed to enjoy performing and still seemed pretty "with it", but come on..he was 89, not like he was 39 or 49, cut down In his prime. The daughters need to let him rest in peace. He was a very sick, aged man whose time came. Why make scandal and drama part of his final days?

I just did a bit of reading and it seems that these two have been at odds with the rest of the family for quite some time. Several years ago Patty was incarcerated at a prison in Florida at the same time that BB put on a show there.

Based on this they have decided to continue on their charade even after the death of their father. How disrespectful of them.

King . Music friends — including musicians Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton — she prevented all of them from visiting him, besides his children and recently she put her family members on King's payroll too.

I see no reason for Buddy Guy to lie. He doesn't need attention or money. His place in Chi is packed and he tours. Maybe it wasn't poison as much as neglect and easing him out when he could have recovered .
Maybe she needed cash now not later or something, plus all the relatives she recently added may get severance payouts now since she is executor of the estate.etc.
RIP BB

I was going to see Buddy several times per week.

He wasn't popular then like his became later. This was probably 88 or 89 I guess.

Back then, he played all night long and I would be right there at the front table, sucking down beers and eating Buddy's own red beans and rice... Buddy knew all the regulars and I have never ever ever had a better time at any show than those days.

Buddy was electrifying and warm, with his smile lighting up the room.

No, I am certain he is telling it like it is.
