Judge bans gun rights advocate from entering St. Louis Zoo with a firearm

Source: STL Post Dispatch

Jeffry Smith has announced plans to go to the St. Louis Zoo Saturday afternoon, armed with a handgun, to challenge the legality of the zoo's ban on firearms. He has invited others to join him.

But the zoo was granted a temporary restraining order Friday that bars Smith from entering the zoo with a gun or weapon. The order was signed by Circuit Judge Joan Moriarty and is in effect until a hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 22.

Smith said he is still coming but will not defy the judge's order.

He told the Post-Dispatch Friday that he was en route from his home in the Cincinnati area with his .45-caliber Taurus handgun. He had planned to try to enter the St. Louis Zoo's south entrance at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in defiance of the zoo's posted signs banning firearms and other weapons. By Friday morning, three dozen Facebook users on an event page Smith created to publicize his plans had said they would join him. Smith had encouraged people to bring handguns — not rifles or other "long guns" — in hip holsters.

I've been around firearms since I was a kid, yet when I see one of these idiots carrying a weapon in public they scare the shit out of me. They've been drinking the NRA cool-aid for far too long and have gone off the deep end.

with his weapon?

Poorly raised by backwoods idiots, he fails to grasp normal people don't take guns to public places because they are OUT OF PLACE. Bad manners. STUPID.

Jeffrey Smith, inviting himself and his gun to display around the
humans, instead of minding his own business, and getting a life,

None of this is about "other people." It's all about HIM - which is why this ugly fucker is willing to drive 350 miles in one direction to waltz around a place he'd never go to just to see it.
