Pakistan says airstrikes kill 20 militants by Afghan border

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan's military says airstrikes have killed 20 suspected militants in a troubled northwestern tribal region near the Afghan border.

A statement Saturday said the strikes killed insurgents in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.

The military gave no other details. The information could not be corroborated as journalists are barred from the country's tribal areas.

North Waziristan was considered the headquarters of Pakistani Taliban until last summer, when the military launched a major offensive there to eliminate local and foreign militants.

They created a terrorist insurgency in Kashmir which was a peaceful place and now they are paying the price. Pretty soon there will be a free Balochistan .... then Sindhudesh ....

Pakistan needs to get over Kashmir, surrender occupied territory and get help from India, the regional power, to solve its problems. Indian investments would make lives of Pakistanis better ... but but .. that would be construed as a defeat of one side in a two-nation doctrine ....
