House votes 391-0 to urge Iran to release jailed Americans

WASHINGTON – The House voted 391-0 Monday (June 15) for a resolution calling on Iran to release three Americans jailed in the nation and provide information on a 4th American listed as missing.

Under arrest in Iran are Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, Pastor Saeed Abedin, sentenced for holding a Bible study and former U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati.

Former FBI agent Robert Levinson has been missing for eight years.

Previously, some congressional members called on the Obama administration to link any potential deal to lift sanctions against Iran in return for reductions in the nation's nuclear program, to the release of the Americans and information on Levinson.'
