Source: BBC
A group of eight Brazilian senators on a visit to Venezuela to meet a jailed opposition leader say they had to flee after their bus was attacked.
The Brazilian opposition politicians were trying to meet Leopoldo Lopez, who is in jail accused of inciting violence during protests.
The group said the bus was stoned as it travelled from Caracas airport.
Brazil's foreign ministry says it will seek an explanation from the Venezuelan government.

Notice the would-be trouble-makers are senators? The plutocrat types, not your 'common or garden' congress types.

(46,340 posts)Zimbabwe's leader and Venezuela's leaders have a history of friendship going back to the Chavez days.
Mugabe in Zimbabwe, and Maduro in Venezuela both have rule by decree.
Both countries have hyper-inflation, pre-Nazi Germany levels.
Both leaders are running their countries into the dirt.
Violence and crime are rampant in both countries, and brutal crackdowns on dissent is common.

(56 posts)You should worry about that. It could be a symptom of something serious.

(56 posts)"Venezuela in the context of Venezuela" means nothing, unless it means "Venezuela out of context." Is that what you had in mind?

(16,184 posts)There's a cadre of posters here who feel an urgent need to take anything done by another country and summarily dismiss it by pointing out something done by the US.
The US bombing other countries has zero bearing on Chavistas being violent.
