Claire McCaskill, a major Clinton ally, unloads on Bernie Sanders

Source: Politico

Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) unloaded on her Senate colleague Bernie Sanders on Thursday, saying the Vermont independent is far too liberal to make it to the White House.

“I think that the media is giving Bernie a pass right now,” McCaskill said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I very rarely read in any coverage of Bernie that he’s a socialist. I think everybody wants a fight and I think they are not really giving the same scrutiny to Bernie Sanders that they’re giving to, certainly, Hillary Clinton and the other candidates.”

McCaskill endorsed Clinton’s 2016 bid almost exactly two years ago, in June 2013, making her one of the former secretary of state’s earliest major Democratic backers. In the 2008 cycle, she endorsed then-Sen. Barack Obama over Clinton.

But this time, she’s all in for Hillary.

He's a progressive, too, and we don't hear much about that. Most Democrats don't want to talk about socialism at all, but some of them like to use the term "progressive" when it suits them. Sanders is not a sometime socialist, nor a sometime progressive. He's a democratic socialist and a progressive all the time.

will not admit what the truth is. And that is not enough wealthy bankers and corporatists are affecting or infecting Bernies integrity and principle. This country's political system is ruined by that fact of huge corporate coffers guiding all candidates during elections, except in this one. One person is ruled by honesty, integrity and high ideals. Ummmm, I wonder who that strange one could be Go Bernie. To hell with mccaskill. Nothing more could be expected of her. If it is proven to me in the next 18 months or so, from undeniable sources, whomever and wherever that could be in this corrupt political system driven by money, that Bernie as the democratic party nominee cannot win a general election, I will have to close my eyes, hold my nose and "pull the lever" for the next corporatist democratic party POTUS.

I want Bernie as a POTUS. He is the same today as he was yesterday in economics, diversity, social justice and fairness related to all races in this country. I just tell the naysayers here and in public, grow up and vote for a real candidate for and OF the people. And I talk to a lot of people. Hell, I can sit outside my coop on any day and talk, drink coffee, and talk and drink filtered water, and talk......I'm having fun......

“I very rarely read in any coverage of Bernie that he’s a socialist."

Good one, Claire. Right out of the Mark Penn rulebook. Or, as Megyn Kelley once said about the word 'amnesty': "That's a hot-button term that the right uses to sort of get people upset."

I'm not going to look for it, but somewhere out there a Reich-winger is writing: "Dem calls Sander a 'soshilust!'" And "the base" is going to hear it over, and over, and over.

Didn't Hillary learn anything?

or glasses, if this is accurate. He's invariably referred to as 'Sen. Bernie Sanders, the self-described socialist'. The 'Independent' usually isn't brought up but the S word always is, it's practically his middle name.

And that's fine, socialism and socialist policies have been around a long time in this country well before Sen. Sanders. And a healthy democracy only benefits from a variety of views especially to ward off authoritarianism.

And there's the obvious, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) has endorsed Mrs. Clinton. And on Tuesday she was one of the 13 Democratic Senators who voted with Republicans to advance the TPP trade bill by voting Fascist Track trade powers for the president.

The massive TPP global trade agreement which has been negotiated in secret for 10 years, by 600 corporate agents is vehemently opposed by Sen. Sanders, other representatives like Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), many American citizens and some Republicans because of the harm it will do to American workers, our national sovereignty and the environment.

(There also isn't much regard for Joe Scar, a conservative former GOP Rep. from FL and a self centered loudmouth).

"The Washington Post ranked her as the second-most-likely to vote against her party. Most likely was Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), who’s not running for reelection.

She’s voted several times with Republicans on environmental issues. She’s also co-sponsored a number of bills with Republicans, such as the Earmark Elimination Act of 2011 with Sens. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fl.), and she supports a balanced budget amendment."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/wp/2012/09/28/is-sen-claire-mccaskill-a-moderate/

She's to the far right on the Democratic Party. This is as close to a Republican criticizing Sanders as you can get in the Democratic Party. The fact she's a supporter of Hilary is not surprising.

Now where doe this leave Hillary. If Bernie is "too Liberal" is Hillary just a little bit Liberal or partially Conservative and the other part liberal or does the "liberal" label fit Hillary at all.
