Steve King Ready To Impeach Kagan, Ginsburg After Gay Marriage Ruling
Source: TPM
Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a vocal opponent of gay marriage, has a few ideas on how conservatives should react to the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage, including impeaching some of the justices.
During an appearance on Jan Mickelson's Iowa radio show "Mickelson in the Morning," a caller suggested that Congress impeach some of the Supreme Court justices. King agreed, mentioning that both Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Justice Elena Kagan have performed same-sex marriages.
"That provision does exist, and lets hear what the public has to say. If that were put up before me today, and I think I mentioned Ginsburg and Kagan as being two that had been conducting same-sex marriages on their spare time and did not recuse themselves, I would put up the vote to remove them from office," King said, according to audio published by Right Wing Watch. " But I dont know if the public is ready for that."
The congressman said he also thought Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) proposal to hold retention elections for the justices was a "good idea." In the meantime, King suggested "nationwide civil disobedience" and encouraged states to simply "abolish civil marriage. They will not stop until they can force a priest to conduct a same-sex marriage at the altar of a Catholic church," he said.

(3,944 posts)If Ginsburg & Kagan need to recuse themselves for performing same-sex marriages, then the other justices need to recuse themselves for performing hetero marriages. Right, Steve?
As we say in Jersey: Impeach THIS, buddy!

- flushing unlimited money into the political system
- hurting democracy bit by bit
- and scalia/Thomas for selecting bush and stopping votes from being counted.
- I'm all for starting completely fresh on scotus which is pretty embarrassing on a global basis (minus a couple of votes that just managed to get by).

WASHINGTON When the conservative financier Charles Koch sent out invitations for a political retreat in Palm Springs later this month, he highlighted past appearances at the gathering of notable leaders like Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court.

Reports that two Supreme Court Justices have attended seminars sponsored by the energy giant and conservative bankroller Koch Industries has sparked a mild debate over judicial ethics.
On Tuesday evening, the New York Times reported that an upcoming meeting in Palm Springs of "a secretive network of Republican donors" that was being organized by Koch Industries, "the longtime underwriter of libertarian causes." Buried in the third to last graph was a note that previous guests at such meetings included Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas, two of the more conservative members of the bench.
The rascist King needs this pointed out to him that he shouldn't be throwing stones at Gingsberg and Kagen since he lives in a glass house. What is wrong with the people who keep electing him.?
