10-foot alligator captured near downtown Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) A blind alligator stretching more than 10 feet has been removed from the Trinity River in a park near downtown Fort Worth and taken to a refuge.
Game wardens and a reptile hunter, Chris Stevens, used a noose to capture the male gator Thursday night at Riverside Park.
Stevens said the animal needed to be moved to ensure public safety.
"The problem is not the alligator it's the people," he said. "Being in that high profile of a location, people are going to start feeding it, and anytime you have an alligator like this, it's just a matter of time before people poke it."

(22,651 posts)all the drainage waterways are full of big fat invasive fish and the invasive wild hogs have to drink water, those gators must be loving their modern day life
maybe we should import some florida boas invasive snakes, I read the 20 foot boas will eat those large gators!
I guess with climate change, if there is enough flood water perhaps the gators will spread to Oklahoma and migrate north along with the Asian carp and wild pigs.
