EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Tom Moore, the cartoonist who brought to life the escapades of a freckled-face, red-haired character named Archie, has died.

The El Paso native was 86.

Archie was created by Bob Montana who used his characters from his high school days at Haverhill High School in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Used to buy and trade Archies (and Ritchie Rich) comic books back in the early '70s and also watched the cartoon too. And of course this was just a gas -

Sorry to see this but thanks for the memories.

When I was growing up in the 80's, she tried to get me into it, but all I wanted to read was Transformers, GI Joe, and Spider-Man. She couldn't understand why I wasn't all that interested.

I used to like to draw, and I would draw Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Reggie.

l particularly liked drawing Betty & Veronica because I liked designing and coloring their costumes.

Moore had a long life and a successful career; we should all be so lucky.
