Turkish man, 20, carried out Syria border bombing: official

Source: AFP

Ankara (AFP) - A 20-year-old Turkish man reportedly linked to Islamic State militants carried out the suicide bombing in the mainly Kurdish town of Suruc near the border with Syria that killed 32 people, a Turkish official said on Wednesday.

"As a result of DNA tests, we confirm that the assailant is a 20-year-old man registered in Adiyaman," the official told AFP on condition of anonymity, referring to a province in southeastern Turkey.

Media reports had earlier said the man -- identified by his initials S.A.A. -- had first become involved with IS militants two months ago.

Monday's blast ripped through a gathering of activists in Suruc, just across the border from the Syrian town of Kobane which was the scene of fierce clashes between Kurdish forces and jihadists last year.

There were clashes between angry demonstrators and cops in Istanbul yesterday.

The people of the region where the attack occurred are absolutely furious with Ankara.

Turkey has, at best, turned a blind eye to ISIS; at worst, it's actively collaborating.

Why Washington lets the Turks get away with this crap is a real question.

Both Kurdish and Muslim terrorists are financed by the Christian Crusaders to justify their invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Turkish government is a slave of the American policy. You think they helped Isis without the consent of America?

The jihadis are being financed by the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia.

The US considers the PKK a terrorist organization. I suspect the PKK gets some of its revenues from drug trafficking. You know all about that in Turkey, don't you?
