For many genuinely concerned that BiBi could be telling the truth (it could happen, couldn't it?), Kerry's clear cut words on this are important. In the long run, for Israel, the region, and the world - that comparison says the deal is better than the status quo. It is so obvious, that Hadassah, AIPAC and others are arguing not for the status quo, but for a nonexistent, not obtainable unicorn - "a better deal". (As if, the 6 nations really would reject the carefully designed deal, return to the table, leave in the interim agreement and spend time working on a plan that BiBi would like. )

At the end, it comes down to:
1) This deal or no deal
2) If no deal, there will almost certainly be pressure to bomb Iran - especially because there will be no monitors and some will argue they are even closer than 2 months and we have to stop them now.

More than the IWR even, a vote against this is a vote for war over giving diplomacy a chance.

On the other hand, unlike, apparently, most of the Congress, I am not beholden to Israel.

The alternative is the threat of another war in the Middle East and a more of a threat to Israel, the loss of Iran as a potential trading partner to Russia and China. We need the deal with Iran and we need to stand up to the Right Wing in this country. We cannot let them win this, the stakes are too high.
