Officers Swooped Down on Gunman in Studio City

Police shot and killed a gunman who fired shots at a Studio City shopping area, terrorizing shoppers and prompting a massive LAPD response.

The call was repored at 3:28 p.m. in the 12000 block of Ventura Boulevard.

Shoppers in the area were evacuated from businesses. A long line of cars could be seen leaving a parking lot.

Ventura Boulevard is closed to traffic between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Laurelgrove Avenue in Studio City. Police were advising motorists to avoid the areas near Laurel Canyon and Ventura Boulevard.

just really sad what we've become in this world, divided on so many levels and many ways and lethally acrimonious. Sad indeed.
