Sandra Bland's arrest, death take stage at Texas Capitol

The arrest and death of Sandra Bland are bringing top state officials to the Texas Capitol to testify about jail standards and police officer protocols.

The Texas House Committee on County Affairs is now taking a new look at jail procedures and interactions with the police and the public.

Texas Rangers and the FBI are continuing to investigate Bland's death.

experiencing them.

Haul them in on a trumped up charge, isolate them for 72 hrs. with no information, deny them medical care, shuffle them between multiple holding cells, throw them a blanket to sleep on the concrete floor, now they are qualified to evaluate the procedures.

Where is this lawyer you are supposed to appoint for me?

That's only for a felony, we don't do that for a misdemeanor. You have to be charged with something that entails jail time.

How about those three days I just spent in your jail?

And it doesn't get any better. It is easy for them to get you into a Courtroom, but unless you have $30K to blow it is difficult to get them there.
