Police search home of Kiss rocker Gene Simmons
Source: SFGATE.COM
LOS ANGELES Los Angeles police say a task force investigating Internet crimes against children served a search warrant at the home of Kiss rocker Gene Simmons, but neither Simmons nor anyone in his family is suspected in the case.
Lt. John Jenal says the warrant was served Thursday at the Simmons home in Benedict Canyon near Beverly Hills.
Jenal says the detectives involved want to emphasize that Simmons and his family were "extremely cooperative" and none of them are suspected of a crime.
Police would give no further comment on the investigation.

You might stave off the hack for 24 hours if you use one of those random key generation sites.
But, if you have a bored neighbor with too much time on their hands... they're in your home network.

But, that's OK. As a neighbor, they have all the time in the world to do it. With a slower machine 2 days.
If you hide your SSID, that will buy you a few more minutes, if you secure your MAC Addresses, that can be spoofed.

It's a fascade to think that a secure network keeps people out, if anything can helps to convict innocent people.
What better way to get revenge on someone--hire a detective or computer whiz to plant info/collect/send on your PC?

(22,651 posts)at flagging any internet user who viewed/ downloaded any criminal content. Then a warrant & seize household computers. IRS does this seize computers too.
I think the downside is the worse criminals will not keep computers at their home address and may use remote browser/web cam software.
