Shots Fired on Amsterdam-to-Paris Train, Three Injured: Police
Source: NBC
A gunman opened fire on a train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday afternoon, wounding at least three people before he was apprehended, police officials told NBC News.
It happened near Arras, France, 115 miles north of Paris.
"The situation is under control. The travelers are safe," the company that operates the train, Thalys, tweeted in French. "The train stopped and the emergency services are on site."
Two of the victims were in serious condition, French President François Hollande said in a statement.

(1,309 posts)what about that shows they have any special knowledge of how to disarm someone.
As former Army infantry, I do not remember much training to disarm anyone, and I am sure most Air Force personnel nor civilians receive any training on this. By the way, the military service of two guys were Army and Air Force, and the third had not had military service. No marines were involved.
So where you have any facts to support tying your beliefs on guns to this incident I have no idea. I personally see no problems with teaching interested parties how to try to disarm a person with a gun, I suspect the normal method is to try to grab the gun or the hand holding the gun and pound him to the ground. I would caution you that although 3 guys rushed him one was shot and that could be expected. So yes I believe we need much better gun control in the US but disarming an attacker who has a gun does not equal having your own gun. I can tell you this from personal experience in combat. Nice though but just not realistic.
